What’s your favorite muffin flavor?
I am fortunate enough to work for a company where I don’t have to choose. At Main Street Gourmet, we are able to sample products that were produced the day before during our daily QA test-bake “buffet.” This morning the “buffet” included: Banana Chocolate Chip, Cinnamon Mocha Espresso, Blueberry, and Cinnamon Roll Muffins. Today was a good day. Although the best-selling muffin for Main Street Gourmet is blueberry, I personally prefer cranberry-not too tart and not too sweet. I also like cinnamon muffins because to me, they are the perfect portable coffee cake.
In my quest to find a top-ten list of muffin flavors, I was surprised to find that there isn’t really a solid answer.
The Top Tens’ list (link) mentions Walnut Coffee which is a flavor I have never encountered, while Taste of Home (link) has Blueberry ranked third behind Banana and Pumpkin Pecan. Ranker’s list (link) includes a Monkey Bread Muffin. It seems there are as many lists of top-selling muffin flavors as there are muffin flavors themselves.
Here at Main Street Gourmet, we have 128 Blueberry Muffin Recipes on file. Blueberry is consistently the best-selling muffin flavor here followed by Zucchini, Better Morning, Chocolate and Banana.
